American in Hamburg · AI systems, aerospace engineering, and a life beyond the screen
AI systems engineer, data scientist, economist, and builder.
I’m an American based in Hamburg, Germany, currently working with aerospace AI, airframe and fuselage engineering workflows, and applied AI systems at a major aircraft manufacturer. I like making difficult systems easier to understand, evaluate, and use.
My interests span AI systems engineering, evaluation engineering, economics, and the practical work of building reliable tools.
A few lenses
I look for relationships, feedback loops, and what happens around the code.
I test behavior, look at failures, and keep human judgment visible.
I pay attention to incentives, uncertainty, tradeoffs, and who benefits.
Science, movement, photography, and travel keep the frame wider.
Selected Work
Capability areas shaped by professional work, independent projects, and ongoing study. Employer-sensitive details stay appropriately anonymized.
Working with technical data and AI-enabled workflows in a major aircraft-manufacturing environment, described here only at a public-safe level.
Airframe workflows · Applied AI · Production constraints
Testing model behavior, retrieval quality, and failure modes so AI systems can be reviewed with evidence rather than intuition alone.
Evaluation · Retrieval · Failure analysis
Structuring specialized language and documents while keeping context, provenance, and expert interpretation visible.
Domain NLP · Technical documents · Provenance
Exploring how simulation data, experimental design, prediction, and careful validation can support engineering analysis.
Surrogate models · DOE · Model evaluation
Designing review, annotation, and feedback workflows that keep expert judgment and accountability clear.
Human review · Annotation · Feedback loops
Building small, durable systems that make publishing, review, and routine technical work easier to operate.
Automation · Publishing · Delivery workflows
Writing
AI systems, evaluation, automation, economics, and the practice of making useful things.
Beyond Work
The parts of life that keep me observant, capable, and interested.
